I only used it under BeOS 5 Pro on PPC and with Mac OS 8.1 on a seperate partition. My experience with SheepShaver is limited. Mac OS 8.1 was the last OS to support 68k processors and only ran on 68LC040s and and 68040s.

SDLMESS for the PowerPC and x86 microprocessors are for Mac OS X 10.4 and later. Since SDL is avaiable for Mac OS X, SDLMESS can be compiled for Mac OS X. My trials with it under Linux was even less successful.īasilisk only lets you use up to System 7.5.5 (not sure about System 7.6) if you're using a Mac IIci ROM and up to Mac OS 8.1 when using a Quadra 900 ROM. SDLMESS SDLMESS is a port of the popular MESS emulator to run on the SDL platform. Under the right conditions, as far as I could get was a blinking questionmark on startup. However, let me give you a MUCH better tip–if you have a PC that has 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM in it, you can also install Qemu Control on that, make a qcow image (NOT qcow2!) that is compressed, install Windows XP on that, burn the virtual hard disk file to DVD or copy it to a flash drive, and transfer it.
